Homemade Beef Burgers
Serves: Four | Prep: 35 min | Cook: 10 min
Ingredients:
Homemade Beef Burgers:
2 lbs, (15-20% fat) ground beef
2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4 brioche buns
Toppings:
4 slices gouda chesse
Lettuce
Tomato
Pickled Onions
Pickles
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the beef, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, salt, and pepper. Gently mix everything together until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat, as this can make the burgers tough. With clean hands, divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty. Flatten them slightly and press a small thumb indentation into the center of each one to help them cook evenly and hold their shape. Place the patties on a platter, cover with cling film, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
Preheat your barbecue to high heat. Lightly drizzle oil over the top of each burger and place them oil-side down on the grill. Cook for about 5 minutes per side for well done, resisting the urge to press down on the burgers while they cook. During the last 30 seconds, add cheese to the tops and place the buns on the grill to toast. Remove the burgers from the grill and let them rest for 1–2 minutes before adding your favorite toppings.
**Burgers can also be frozen; simply defrost completely before grilling.
