Sesame Ginger Seared Tuna Steaks
Serves: Four | Prep: 10 min | Cook: 10 min
Ingredients:
Sesame Ginger Seared Tuna Steaks:
2 large tuna steaks, 1-inch thick
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp sesame oil
1 Tbsp honey
2 tsp fresh ginger, finely minced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp olive oil
Toasted seasme seeds
Scallions
Lime
Directions:
In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, ginger, garlic, and pepper to make the marinade. Reserve 1 Tablespoon of the mixture and set it aside. Place the tuna steaks in the remaining marinade, making sure they are well coated, and let them marinate for about 30 minutes.
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat for 3–5 minutes, until it is very hot. Add oil to the pan, then place the tuna steaks in the skillet and sear for 1–2 minutes per side, depending on how rare you like the center.
Remove the tuna from the pan and slice into 1/2-inch slices. Arrange on a serving plate and drizzle with the reserved marinade. Finish with toasted sesame seeds, fresh sliced scallions, and lime wedges before serving.
