Sausage Bread

Ingredients:
Sausage Bread:
1 boule Pizza Dough
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 lb savory flavored sausage meat, casing removed
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 cup roasted red peppers
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 egg
1 Tbsp sesame seeds
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F/200°C.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, then add the sausage and chopped onion. Cook for about 3–5 minutes, breaking up the sausage as it cooks. Add the garlic, parsley, and oregano. Continue cooking for another 3–5 minutes, until the sausage is browned and the onions are tender. Remove the skillet from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
Lightly flour the baking paper and roll out the pizza dough directly on top of it into a rectangle about 14 x 12 inches. Spread the slightly cooled sausage mixture evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1 to 1 1/2-inch border around the edges. Arrange the roasted red peppers over the sausage and sprinkle the cheeses evenly on top.
Starting at the edge closest to you, use the baking paper to help roll the dough away from you into a log, sealing the edges as you go. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 Tablespoon of water to make an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the top of the dough, cut a few slits across the top, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Transfer the loaf to a baking tray and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving. Serve with Marinara Sauce or Sweet and Spicy Pizza Sauce.
